She nodded. "If you want to come over tomorrow, sure." She said, smiling faintly. She looked up at him, blushing a bit at the next kiss. She brought her hand to the back of his neck, kissing him back just as deeply. She'd never have guessed they would have been on her front porch in the middle of the night kissing. "Goodnight.." She said quietly, running her hand gently down his chest before she walked back to the door. She made her way inside, picking up her book and turning off the lamp before she started up the stairs.

"I'll see you then." He smirked, watching her disappear inside. Cameron stood there for a few extra minutes, still couldn't believe what had just happened. His dumb-struck wore off, and he started down the stairs, making his way back to his bare apartment. JULY 18TH OF 1953 - SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA Cameron slept in that day, getting his first peaceful night of sleep in awhile. When he woke, he started his day like nothing was new. He showered, got dressed, and headed out, which explained his neat apartment. The sun was high in the sky, giving more sunlight as the clouds dispersed. It was in the afternoon when he started his way to Elaine's. His eyes wondered lazily over the houses that surronded hers. His face lit up as her's came into veiw. He skipped over the few steps they had, and brushed his hand through his hair to make sure every strand was where it needed to be. Cameron knocked quickly before hooking his tumbs in his pocket, waiting for someone to answer.

Lainee looked up at the knock on the door, but before she could even get up, Rosie was at the door. She curled back up with her book, her hand in the loose waves of her hair.
"Elaine! Your friend is here!" Rosie called from the door.
"I'm in here!" She called from the library, and heard Rosie chuckle.
"She's right there in the library, child. You might have to fight that book out of her hands." She told him, and Elaine smiled to herself, pulling the blanket she had draped over her legs closer.

"Hello, Rosie." He smirked as the woman opened the door. With a nod of his head, Cameron slipped into the house and found his into the library. "Good afternoon, ma'am. How are you doing?" He spoke softly as his eyes traced over Elaine. His tongue ran across his lips, and he stepped further into the room, looking around quietly. His hands were deep into his pockets. His right clutched to his wallet as his eyes made their way back to her.

She smiled, looking up at him as she slipped her ribbon into her book to save her spot. "Good afternoon, sir. I'm doing well." She said, looking him over for a second before she put her feet on the floor instead of in the couch. "And how are you?" She asked, patting the spot beside her for him to sit. Even though she hadn't been awake long, the first thing she'd thought about was him. She was almost amazed how someone could invade her thoughts so much.

Cameron bit his lip, walking over as she patted the seat. He pulled his hands from his pockets before taking a seat, and glacing her way. "I'm good. The walk home wore me out," He chuckled softly, showing off his teeth. Their kiss was still fresh on his mind, and all he had wanted on the way home was another, and another. He shook his head playfully, clearing his mind of those thoughts. "What's happening in your book?" He asked after awhile, raising his eyebrow slightly.

She shrugged. "Not much. I finished my other book this morning. And I started this one not long ago, so it's not really anything happening." She said, handing him the book to look at. She pulled her legs up into the seat with her, fixing her blanket before she looked over at him. She looked him over, remembering just how it felt when he'd had her in his arms. She leaned back a bit, folding her hands in her lap. "My dad's supposed to be home tomorrow, I think." She said quietly.

He took the book in his hands, flipping it this way and that, making sure not to lose her spot. "That's neat." Cameron smirked, and opened the book to the first page. "I haven't seen my mother and father since I came here," His eyes glanced quickly over to her before scanning through the words on the page. "I send them letters when I can." He closed the book softly, and sat it on his lap.

She nodded. "Yeah, we send my dad plenty of letters and gifts in the post. Why did you ever move? I mean.. Don't you miss being back home?" She asked, reaching over to pick the book up from his lap. She held it in her hands, looking over at him as she waited for an answer. She was sure to listen, especially if it was a story he had to tell. She loved stories.

He kept a smile on his face, even with debating on telling her in his mind. "I do miss them, but they understand why I left." Cameron tore his gaze away from her, and bit his lip before fishing into his pocket. He pulled out the leather wallet, and rubbed his fingers over it. "I couldn't stay home when what I was looking for left to come here. I had to follow." His fingers played with the opening of his wallet, sneaking a peek her way.

"What could you possibly be looking for that was so important? I don't think anything would make me leave home. I mean, aside from getting married but even that's a bit of a stretch." She honestly meant the last part. It seemed guys weren't all that into her, and no one she ever liked really made it past her dad or the 'I turn into a fish when I come in contact with water' stage. She reached up, tucking her hair behind her ear.

Cameron chuckled, "The girl of my dreams." He opened the wallet, his eyes falling straight to the picture in the front. He pulled it out, and held it out so Elaine could see. "Her name's Adrienne. I didn't get to see her til' she was one, and now it's been three years since I've seen her last." His eyes wondered over Elaine's face, hoping it didn't freak her out, that she didn't kick him out. "Her mother doesn't like me.. so they hide and move a lot."

If he'd asked, she probably wouldn't have denied that her heart hit the floor when he finally spoke. She took the picture from him, half expecting a teenage girl, or a young woman. "She's a beautiful little girl. She looks a lot like a little girl I see at the library sometimes. She's always reading her books upside down." She said with a smile, handing him back the picture. She wasn't surprised he had a kid; she'd assumed as much. "Why don't you just file papers? My father could help you get some more pull. He's a judge."

He nodded, biting his lip. "She has the cutest laugh, and her hand fit into the palm of mine." A peaceful smile washed over his face as he thought back to when he had met his little girl for the first time. Granted, she could barely crawl and only talked gibberish. But when she reached out to him, his heart melted and he knew he would do anything for her. Cameron looked up to catch Elaine's gaze. "I've only met her once. Who would give her to me? I haven't been in her life.. I doubt her mother even tells her about me." He shrugged it off, and leaned back into the couch.

"A true father would.." She said quietly, leaning back to look over at him. "My mom couldn't have kids. So they adopted me. But that doesn't mean they're any less of parents. You didn't walk out on her. She was taken away from you. And I'm sure if you told my dad about your little girl and what happened, he'd do everything he could to get you your rights to her. You didn't choose to be apart from her.." She ran her hand over the cover of her book, looking him over for a moment before she looked up at the clock.
