He sighed, and rested his head against the back of the couch, starring up at the ceiling. "I wouldn't want to bother your father. He should spend time with you and your mother when he returns." Cameron felt like he had to make it right by himself. He was the one to let her slip away. He should have known they would disappear again. "And her mother's not bad. She has her reasons.. We always fought when we were together, and when she became pregnant, it got worse. She told me I'd be lucky to even see Adrienne once.." He slipped the picture into his wallet and put it back in his pocket.

For some reason, Elaine couldn't shake the feeling that whatever had happened last night was said and done; that it meant nothing now. Which was usually how things ended for her anyways, so she wasn't any more bothered by it than she'd been with anyone she'd liked before. "Everything'll work out. She'll get over her bitter ways and you'll have your daughter and her mother back." She said quietly, opening her book to where she'd last left off. She propped her elbow on he arm of the sofa, reading slowly over the words there.

"I just want my daughter." Cameron responded. He had good times with Adrienne's mother, but he had never loved her. It wasn't her that he sat up at night thinking about, it was his daughter. "Her mother can be with someone else as far as I'm concerned. The way our relationship was, is no way to raise a child." He glanced Elaine's way, and kept quiet as he saw she was reading. He didn't want to talk about the mother anyways, she wasn't very important in his book.

She just continued to read, thinking that his relationship with the mother was probably the same old song and dance it always was- two kids got together, they had a kid, realized they didn't want to be tied down, and things got rocky. But they always ended up in an on and off relationship until they realized one of two things: that they wanted to go their separate ways, or they wanted to be together. But until then, there was bound to be nights together followed by dreaded mornings.
She didn't realize until then that her eyes had been scanning the page, but she hadn't actually read a thing. She sighed, putting the ribbon back in her book and sitting it on the table. She propped her head against her hand, looking over at the shelves lining the wall. "You'll get her back, Cameron."

He sat there with his eyes closed, lost in his own mind of thought. Cameron was just about certain that any chance he had with her had just flown out the window. But it wasn't anything new. Who wanted to be with someone who already had a kid? His eyes stayed closed, even as she spoke up. "I hope so.." He mumbled before letting the yawn he had been holding back escape. He finally peeled his eye lids back, stealing a look over at Elaine. "I shouldn't of bothered you with any of that.. Especially after I kissed you. But I doubt you would have kissed me if I would have told you that before." A smirk pulled at his lips at the memory of last night. "And I really wanted to kiss you.."

"You didn't bother me with it. And I wouldn't have kissed you back if I didn't want to." She said, looking over at him. "Even if you would have told me before, I still would have kissed you." She didn't think anything would have stopped her from kissing her yesterday even if he would have told her about his kid before. "It wouldn't have changed anything. It's respectable that you actually want to take care of your kid, that you want to find her."

He listened quietly, lifting his head up to turn it toward her. "So, this is okay?" Cameron asked, scooting a few inches closer to with his eyebrow raising slightly. He was testing his limits, and hoping she didn't throw him out. Even if they didn't kiss again, he would be fine with it.. for awhile. He thought he was doing a pretty good job at letting her know he was attracted to her. It wasn't just a physical attraction, and he hoped that she knew that. He wouldn't do much, especially if she didn't want him to.

She smiled, nodding her head. She curled up, turning so she was facing him with her head resting on the back of the sofa. She looked him over, her eyes wandering over his face. She was honestly attracted to him, even if she was wary about starting anything with him. Especially if he found his ex. There was bound to be something that would go on with the two of them, and she refused to share someone she really cared about. "Of course it's okay."

His hands rested in his lap. His grin returning as he caught her looking him over. "And this?" His left hand reached out, pushing back her curls before brushing her jaw line down to her chin and then ended up back in his lap. Cameron could feel his stomach bubbling again, but he kept his eyes on her. "I wouldn't want to make you feel uncomfortable."

She smiled, reaching over to rest her hand gently on his chest. "It's kind of hard to make me uncomfortable." She said quietly, looking over his face before she leaned over, giving him a gentle kiss on the lips. "I told you telling me about your daughter wouldn't change anything.." She said quietly.

A smirk crossed his lips as she pulled back from the kiss. His fingers touched under her chin, bringing her lips back to his. He pulled back slightly, a small chuckle escaping. "I really like kissing you." Cameron whispered, brushing his fingers across her cheek. He bit his lip, the light color of pink rose to his cheeks. His eyes searched hers, and in that moment all he wanted to do was hold her close. But he let his hand falll from her face, and pulled his face back a couple more inches.

She met his kiss gently, running her fingers slowly over his chest. She smiled as he pulled back. "I like kissing you too.. But maybe it's just because I've never kissed anyone else before." She teased, laying her head back on the sofa as he pulled back even more. She wondered for a moment what it would be like to have someone like this who cared about you, to be lucky enough to have a child to run around and care for.

As she laid back, he reached over to take her hand in his. He interlaced their fingers, and squezzed her hand gently before looking up to her face. "Really? I never would have guessed." He chuckled lightly, resting his head against the couch. "But I also don't believe that all the guys in school picked on you." Cameron shrugged and began to mess with her fingers. "Because I like you and I've only known you about five days."

She squeezed his hand gently, holding it tightly in her's. "Well it's the truth! You know no one likes you when you grow up with them. They still see you as that gawky third grader with fire truck red hair." She said with a wrinkle of her nose. She smiled when he spoke next though. "Well, I like you too.." She said quietly.

"I bet it was adorable," He laughed, softly. He picked up one of her fingers, letting it drop back to his hand. His eyes would glance from her to him playing with her fingers, but still giving her all of his attention. "That's good. You had me worried for awhile," Cameron teased lightly, flashing a grin her way.
