Ace took another bite of his muffin, sitting it down next to him. He didn't have much of an appetite anymore. He reached up with his free hand, rubbing at an eye. "I really wanna be happy.. But I don't want to make the person I'm with miserable.."

Ace nodded hesitantly, gently nudging his hand away from his leg. "O-okay.." He mumbled, carefully sliding off the counter. Even if he was drawn to Derek, old habits died hard. He rubbed his eye, slowly making his way upstairs.

Ace made his way to his room, grabbing his clothes. He took a quick shower, then got dressed, walking downstairs again. He stopped, looking at the old newspaper again, but the letters didn't make any sense to him.

Derek wandered up the stairs to get jeans on, and grabbed a shirt before slinking down and dropping onto the sofa before Ace was done.

'See, son of Poseidon, the difference between you and them is they died by the water. Your father wouldn't be so gracious. I'll take care of you. Don't worry about that.' Hades said, and suddenly Ace could hear the screaming of the passengers, their pleas to be saved. He felt like his entire body had gone numb, his lungs full of water. He clamped his hands over his ears, dropping to his knees. "N-no.. Dad.." He cried.

"Ace?" Derek called, standing. He oeered up the stairs, stumbling up towards the boy and sliding down next to him before pulling him close, hugging him tight. "Ace it's okay...you're okay.."

Ace was sure if anyone else were to come comfort him, it may have worked. But he was far too fond of Derek. 'OF ALL THE PEOPLE TO LOVE, SON OF POSEIDON.' Hades screamed, and suddenly Ace's body felt like it was on fire. "STOP! STOP!" He screamed, tugging at his hair. But as soon as it came, it was gone. He looked up at Derek, trembling horribly. "O-okay? You.. okay?" He asked, reaching over to touch his chest.

Derek swallowed, jaw trembling as he held him as close as he could. "I'm okay.." He whispered brokenly, kissing Ace's forehead. "Shh... He's gone now.." He rocked him some, scooting back to lean against the wall, and gasped at the piercing screech in his head, eyes closing as he gritted his teeth. Hades laughed. 'You fool!'

Ace leaned against him, slowly rubbing his chest. His own chest was aching and tight, but he didn't care. He wanted to make sure Derek was okay. 'That's what's wrong with you. You'll treat the people who force sex on you like a king, and yourself like a peasant. You deserve to be a brat everyone sleeps with,' Hades mocked, and Ace sniffled, choking back tears.

Derek opened his eyes with a shaky breath, running a hand through Ace's hair. "Don't cry Ace.... He's an ass." He wrapped his arms back around the boy again, turning him to search his face. "Look at me, Ace... He has nothing over you..." He gagged, wrapping an arm around himself with the sudden stomach cramping. But it vanished again.

Derek touched Ace's cheek. "Quit worrying so much about me and worry about yourself buddy..." He mumbled softly as the cramping passed. "He's doing whatever he can to get into your head..."
'Quit giving him advice!' Hades snarled.

Ace reached up, pressing Derek's hand closer to his face. He wasn't used to having anyone touch him and not want to hurt him. The last person he'd had touch him affectionately was his grandmother before he left Greece. "I'm just worried about you.. I don't want you dead.." He mumbled, tears falling down his cheeks again. "I really like you.."
