Noelle tossed the towel to the floor and stepped on it, waddling down the hall so she wouldn't have to bend over. She started down the stairs, wiping them up carefully before she followed the trail they had made coming inside. She saw Sedrick by the puppies, and walked in, tossing the towel over the back of a chair. She knelt down beside him, looking at the puppies before she looked at him. She gently brushed his hair back, running her fingers over his cheek. "It's okay.." She said, gently wrapping her arms around him. She hugged him gently before she let him go, hoping it made him feel a little better. "Your smile is too pretty to be hidden by tears. You could light up a room, you know that?"

Sedrick worked his jaw when she touched his cheek, but he hugged her back tightly. "Nah I couldn't.." He insisted in a hushed voice. He looked back down at the puppies again, watching the way they kept pushing past the little runt as he cried. He frowned. "Something's wrong with him.. He's different you know? They can tell..." He scooped the currently blind and deaf puppy up, kissing the top of it's head. It curled perfectly in the palm of his hand. "He's so small..."

"They don't mean nothing by it. He just doesn't know how to get his milk like the rest of the puppies. Cause he's the runt. The other puppies aren't like people. They're just trying to stay alive." She reached over, petting it gently. "Maybe you can feed him since he doesn't know how to feed himself. He can be your puppy." She smiled over at him, folding her hands in her lap. She reached over, petting Dice gently. "But you gotta keep him good and warm. And full. He's gotta get all chubby and cute." She said, peeking over at the tiny puppy.

"Wanna go show your brother? Then we can leave and get the movies and stuff for your puppy?"

'I'm not stupid..' He thought dejectedly. 'I know what a runt is..' But he didn't say anything, just held it against his chest as it cried. Wandering upstairs, he told Richard they were going, and had him hold it while he changed into jeans and a white shirt. He wandered back to Richie, who onky smiled, finally unpacking his things, and took the little pup.

Noelle watched him get up and go, and sighed, looking down at the puppies. She petted one gently, then got up, grabbing her towel. She cleaned up the water they had tracked in here, stopping in the laundry room to drop it off. She climbed the stairs slowly, coughing into her arm. Her chest was hurting again, and she sat down on her bed for a minute, looking around the purple room. She knew one of the other rooms was yellow, and the other one was green. Her mom had been expecting at one point, and they had painted the two rooms. But she ended up losing the pregnancy.

She got up, walking over to the closet. She pushed it open, grabbing a baggy t-shirt off a hanger. She pulled it on, pulling her short hair up into a clip before she started downstairs with her head down. She wandered into the dining room, cleaning up what was left over from dinner in silence, her throat burning.

Sedrick brushed out his hair, nearly walking into Richard on his way into the main room. "Sorry.." he mumbled, pulling his beanie on. Richard chuckled, waving Noelle away and saying he would figure out where everything went so they could get their shopping done.

Sedrick waited patiently, sitting down on the sofa. He scratched at one of his darkly scabbed wrists, the scars up his arms visible because he was actually wearing short sleeves. They weren't at noticeable past his wrist unless one really looked, or knew they were there. The needle marks from drugs however, could be seen.

Noelle handed him the plates, telling him to bring the empty boxes and the paper plates out into the dumpster. She wandered out, her dad waiting for them by the door. She assumed the boy was in the den, considering neither of the boys knew where the living room was. She peeked in, motioning for him to come with her. She stopped in the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water, then walked out to the car, climbing in the back. She unscrewed the cap of her bottle, looking out the window as she took a long drink. She stayed silent on the way there, only speaking once they were in the store to ask if they could get candy, popcorn, and soda. Then she followed her dad over to the pet aisle, swinging the basket slowly at her side.

Sedrick followed them out to the car quietly, had the pup with him so they could find the right sized bottle. It continued to cry until he gave it his thumb and it sucked on the tip, whimpering occasionally. He stared down at it quietly until they got out, and followed through the store, looking around.

She followed him through the pet aisle, looking at the toys and stuff while he looked at everything he needed for the little puppy. She found a tiny teddy bear, and walked over to him with it, putting it next to the puppy. Then she walked over to the fish, watching them swim around until her father called her, telling her they were ready to leave. She walked behind them, looking at the people around her until they got to the check out. She handed the woman the basket, and walked over to start gathering the bags as her dad paid for the items. She followed them out to the car, climbing in the back again, searching around for her bottle.

Sedrick gathers the things they would need, found a little heating pad. He smiled faintly as she brought over the little bear, and set it in the basket as they moved to check out. Climbing into the car, he watched Noelle, grabbed the bottle and offered it to her, lying the little sleeping pup carefully in his lap.

She smiled at him in thanks, taking a drink out of her bottle. She looked out the window on the way home, wondering if like was going to be terribly different now that she had two strangers living with her. Then she suddenly felt selfish. She had two parents, and they had none. She should be happy she could share her's with them. She climbed out as they got to the house, grabbing the bags and toting them inside. She carried them to the living room, then took Sedrick's bags upstairs. She stopped at Richard's room, knocking on the door. "We're gonna watch some movies.." She said quietly.

Sedrick followed her up the stairs and filled the bottle with formula, warming it up before wandering towards Richard's room where the other two were. Richard was sprawled on the bed listening to music, smiled at her and sat up, standing. He ruffled her hair gently, and snatched Sedrick's beanie. "Let's go thennn." Sedrick followed him down the stairs.

Noelle lead them down to the living room, walking over to the mini fridge for a bottle of water. She fished through the movies, randomly picking one before she walked over to the TV. She put the DVD in, and grabbed the remote, walking over to the love seat. She sat down, kicking off her shoes before she propped her feet up on the other arm. She grabbed a blanket from the back of it, and draped it over her. She picked up the remote to skip the previews. She pressed play, then laid it down.

Sedrick followed her into the new room and curled up on the couch to feed the puppy, glancing at the TV. Richard sprawled lazily across the rest cushion and a half of the couch. He smiled over at Noelle and Sedrick rose an eyebrow.

Noelle smiled over at him, twisting the cap off her new bottle of water. She waved at Sedrick just so he didn't feel left out, like she didn't care for him too. She turned her attention back to the TV, sipping out of her water. Her mother came in to see what they were doing, and took the box of popcorn to go pop it. She put the sodas in the fridge, and came back not long after with three bowls of popcorn. She sat them on the table, then walked over to Noelle. "Your father and I are going to bed. Don't be too loud." She said, kissing her forehead. Noelle nodded, turning over onto her side as she watched the movie. "Goodnight, boys."
