[ACE] Devil's duty

Ace nodded, walking over to him. He chewed on his lip, not as nervous about being on a bike with him as he was about sitting behind him with his arms around him. "I've been on a bike before." He said quietly.

"Have you?" Derek smiled, offering the helmet out before pulling his leather jacket on and swinging a leg over. After he got situated and his feet were flat on the ground, he offered a hand to help Ace up behind him, biting his lip at the thoughts of attraction.

"Well, yeah. I had a friend teach me to drive on once." He said, pulling the helmet on and fixing the strap. He put a hand on Derek's shoulder, sliding onto the seat behind him. He wrapped his arms around him, putting his feet up on the pegs. He wasn't used to being so close to anyone, but was oddly comfortable about it.

"Ah, that's cool," Derek huffed. "Maybe I can let you drive somewhere sometime." He picked his feet up and started up the engine, pulling out and down the road. The feeling of Ace so close... He couldn't shake it.

Ace held tightly onto him, watching everything pass past them. He was honestly enjoying being so close to Derek, having an excuse to be pressed up close to him. A million things went through his mind, all of them about Derek.

Derek remained surprisingly relaxed against Ace as he drove, slowing when the neared a complex by the woods. He loved the wild, and if there was fresh water there too they were set. He pulled into the lot.

Ace waited for Derek to climb off the bike before he pulled off his helmet. He carefully climbed off, reminded oddly of the horses he used to ride with his grandmother. He held the helmet by the lip, following Derek up to the building. He could hear water far off into the distance, and grew hopeful they could stay here.

Derek led him in to the main office building, asking about what they had available. After a moment he nodded and turned to Ace. They have an upstairs two bedroom, there's a pool behind the building, and woods. And I hear water." He smiled.

Ace looked over at him, smiling faintly. "Does that mean we get to stay?" He asked, slowly swinging the helmet back and forth. His eyes wandered slowly over his face, chewing on his lip. He didn't want to get his hopes up, but Derek seemed just as excited about the place as he did.

"If you want to, then we're set." he smiled, pulling his wallet out to pay for the aoartment's first months rent, and take the key.

Ace nodded, watching him quietly. He wrapped his arms around him, giving him a lopsided hug while he was holding the helmet. "Thank you, Derek.." He said quietly, glad to have a real home now.

Derek hugged him tight. "You're welcome kiddo." He kissed the top of his head. "Should we go check it out, then? See what we need?"

"Yeah." Ace said quietly, drawing his arms back. He followed after Derek, keeping close to him so he wouldn't get lost. "We really get to stay here?" He asked, still in shock that he had a home.

Derek headed outside and up the stairs to their apartment. It faced the pool and the woods. "Sure are," He breathed. "Cool huh?" He had usually moved around so much he never bothered. Unlocking the door, he opened it for Ace.

Ace started up the steps, stopping half way up to look out over the railing. He slowly continued up the rest of the steps, watching the teenagers in the pool. "Yeah.. Really cool." He said quietly, walking into the apartment.
