Somewhere in California River walked through puddle by puddle as he walked, it rarely rained in California especially during this season, but today was one of those special days mother nature decided to bless Riv with a day of rain. It was merely drizzling at this point, but it was still refreshing, the light drops and feel of the air where both a pleasant change from the day to day. A change, everyone needs a change once and a while, even for short amount a time when it could be easily reversed back to it's previous state. "Arrgh," the strange noise seeped through Riv's lips, as he fell ass first into the puddle that was so conveniently hidden among it's brothers and sisters. A faint giggle escaped from River, he was always one to laugh at himself before everyone else, and it was better than letting himself be humiliated. He struggled to get up, laughing more as he imagined being someone else watching him slip and slide across the sidewalk. "Curse this puddle," he joked, finally getting to his feet and cautiously took step by step to escape.

Deacon had decided that despite it having rained, the little red head needed to get out of the house. But she had decided she would rather jump in the puddles, so he'd put her on a pair of the tiniest rubber boots he'd ever seen, and let her go. The way he was raised, a little mud never hurt a kid.
She looked up at him, her bright blue eyes reflecting her smile before she jumped into a puddle. She giggled, squatting down to splash around in it a bit before she decided her puddle-y business was done with this one, and walked to the next, jumping into it. Deacon wrinkled his nose as he got splashed, reaching down to help her up.

River fumbled with the whole slow motion, step by step, movement. River was always a clumsy kid, he broke plenty of fragile objects, and tripped over the smallest of items, but he always found a way to laugh at the situation and later apologize for the destruction. Strangely he never really got in trouble, a guest houses, they seemed mad a first, but after eye contact they smiled and said "No big deal". River could make sense of this, but didn't question it because he would rather not get in trouble.
Across the way Riv spotted a small toddler accompanied by a young man. It was a strange pair, he could tell if it was his daughter, sister, or whatever. River adored children, he often looked after his cousins, or his fathers friends children while they went off to social gatherings and such. He never imagined to have a child his own, though, it wasn't really a goal for him. Riv smiled faintly, she seemed to enjoy herself splashing around having more fun than he, who was still struggling to stand up straight. "I would be careful, these small bodies of water seem to be death traps," he warned them, reaching for the brick wall behind him as he finally managed to get a solid foot away from the puddle, and stopped looking like an idiot.

Deacon looked over at the boy and smiled. He knew he wasn't human. No way a human was that attractive. Bandit, being the natural flirt she was, smiled and waved at him before she walked over to her next puddle to jump in. He didn't think the little girl could die if she tried. She was probably an angel, but what did he know?
She splashed around in the puddle before she went to the next, leaning down to try and fish a leaf off the top. "Wook!" She exclaimed, nearly falling over.
"Woah, Bandit. The leaf isn't that important." He said with a laugh, helping her back to her feet. He guessed she wasn't much older than a year, considering she could barely walk straight. But he didn't know much about children to begin with. She started walking over to the boy with the leaf, holding it out for him.
"Fank you." She told him, holding it up so he could take it.

River smiled and laughed. The little girl was like all children, fearless and full of adventure. He could faintly remember when he was like that, not caring about what he did, or whatever other people where thinking of him. He kind of missed it.
Riv locked his eyes for a moment on the young man before him. He smiled, and had a kind of curious look on his face as well. Something about him seemed different, not as in he's out of this world alien like, but special in a way. As did the little girl, but he supposed everyone's a bit special in some way, shape, or form.
Stepping up to him, little girl holding out a leaf in her small hand. "No, thank you," he responded, taking the leaf. "What's your name?" he asked getting down to her level for a response.

Deacon looked over as he saw the boy glance his way. He was certainly a breath-taker, he would give him that. But he left the guy-picking-up-ing to Bandit. He'd found most guys frown upon being flirted with by a gay guy, even if Deacon had made an honest mistake thinking they were gay, too.
"Me Bannit." She said, pointing up to Deacon for no apparent reason. Probably so Deacon could tell him his name. He ran a hand through her hair, and she smiled. She didn't speak much, being so small. But when she did, Deacon found it was mostly blabbering.
"Bandit's her name. She obviously thinks she needs another 'n' in there. Even if she says daddy and dog and door fine." He said with a faint smile.
