Derek smiled. "Of course." He murmured, not one to admit that he missed having somebody next to him. He'd always been a loner, but it was odd, the comfort he found in being cuddled with. He ruffled Ace's hair after getting dressed, and put their trash in the hitch before grabbing his keys and climbing onto the bike.

Ace smiled, climbing onto the back of the bike with him. He wrapped his arms tightly around Derek, laying his head on his back. They weren't far down the road before he was sound asleep, holding tightly to Derek's shirt so he didn't fall off the back of the bike.

Derek felt Ace relax not long after pulling out, and he was careful of his driving so the boy wouldn't fall. Upon reaching the apartments, he got off and lifted the boy, carrying him up the stairs and to his room, lying him on the bed before taking his helmet off.
He texted Parish, then climbed in next to the boy and was soon enough asleep.

Ace curled up next to him, holding tightly to his shirt again. He woke up sometime in the middle of the night, pulling off his shirt and undoing his jeans before he fell asleep again. He slept fine until there was a knock on the door in the middle of the morning. He groaned and climbed out of bed, shaking Derek. "Someone needs you bad."

Derek slept soundly through the night, clinging to Ace. He groaned in the morning as the boy shook him, rubbing at his face and sitting up. At some point in the night he had freed himself of his shirt.
Running a hand through messy hair, he stood and sauntered sleepily out of the room to the door. Maybe Parish was here already? He opened the door, rubbing sleepily at his face. "Yeah?"

Ace wandered into the kitchen, overhearing a female voice at the door saying she was there to check on Aerin. He put a piece of bread into the toaster, hoping if he stayed in the kitchen, she would just leave. But sure enough, she was coming into the kitchen with a nurse. 'We need to check you' she told him.

"I'm trying to eat toast." He said, jumping as the toaster popped. The nurse took him by the arm, leading a suddenly paniced Ace into the bedroom. "No! Derek! Don't touch me!" He screamed.

"Hey!" Derek snarled protectively. "What right do you have to just drag him off?!"
He trailed after them, wincing as the door was shut. "Seriously! This is my fucking room!" He pounded on the door, eyes flashing red.

"Please don't.." He pleaded, trying to crawl away from them. But even after all his fighting, they'd finally gotten what they wanted. "I'm just not some rag doll, lady! Do you think it's okay to do what you do?" He cried, pulling the blankets up over himself. "I'm finally happy and you just keep inviting yourselves in.." He mumbled, wanting Derek.

Derek was still pounding on the door, nearly tumbling into the room once it was open, eyes blazing and teeth bared. "You have no right to come here like this. He's perfectly fine," He hissed, standing protectively in front of Ace.

'And we'll see for sure if he is in just a moment' the woman said spitefully. That panic suddenly washed over Ace again as he watched her leave the room. He knew they weren't going far. "We're fucked.." He mumbled, pulling his jeans back on. He wrapped his arms around himself, knowing it wouldn't be long before she came to take him. Nothing would probably happen to Derek. Nothing ever did to the people they said hurting him. They always just took him away.

"No no no..." Derek choked after she had left. "I'm so sorry Ace... I'm stupid... they can't take you away." He swallowed, rubbing his face as he sat down on the edge of the bed. "If-...if they take you, I'll find you..I promise buddy okay?" He looked over at him brokenly, Hades laughing in his head, those voices back and taunting.

"You're not stupid! Acting like I'm some sort of mistake.." Ace hissed, feeling sick to his stomach. This wasn't fair. He didn't want to be taken away. He walked over to the window, looking out over the trees. They'd wanted this place so badly together. And now Ace would be taken from it, uprooted again for the sake of 'all things just and moral'. Ace shrank away from the hand on his shoulder, trying to fight his way away from the two people dragging him out of the door. "You can't just take me! You don't understand! My dad's here! This is all I have!" He screamed, squirming in their grasps.

"You're so far from a mistake..." Derek whispered, watching him. He cursed as they came back, tears falling now. "You can't take him..." He choked, wiping at his face. He tried pulling them away. "Please...I'm not hurting him...he needs this...this is home.. please!"

Ace cried, trying to climb out of the other door as he was put into the back seat of the car. "I- don't take me away.. Please.." He cried, pounding on the window. "I need him. He isn't hurting me!" He slumped down in the seat, burying his face in his hands.

Eyes darkened, inhuman, pissed. "I won't sign your damn papers," He snarled, smacking them from the woman's hands. "Fuck you! You have no reason to take him!"
He sobbed as he was forced back towards the house, watching them go.
He stormed inside, beginning to pack things up. He wasn't letting him go, wasn't losing anyone else. Derek screamed, clawing at his head at the inner bantering. He hauled the bike into his truck. They would have to find a place, but Ace was staying with him. Stopping at Parish's, tears falling down his cheeks, he picked Celeste up, not even sure where he was going. So he headed back towards the agency he'd first found Ace at.
