Sofie held the kitten up to her chest, so she could pull her legs close. Once she was indian style, she moved closer to Connor, snuggling up to his side. She let Jascaar curl up in her lap. Archie watched her, shaking his head. She's so open to strangers, and it worried him. He sighed softly, sinking further into his seat.

Connor relaxed as she snuggled close, and he brought a thin, scarred hand to her little shoulder. It was enough like Christy that he relaxed into a light, uneasy sleep, phone occasionally lighting up beside him with more threatening texts.

Archer watched them for a few moments before leaving the comfort of his seat. At least, he didn't have to forcer Sofia to take a nap. It was always a hassel. She would want to read book after book, or argue, and by the time she gave up, there would be no reason for her to take a nap. Moving quietly around the house, he began to pick the trash, toys, and other things that were just laying around.

Connor shifted his weight, reaching tiredly for his phone. The screen was on, another incoming call. "Fucker..." He mumbled, then answered it. He winced, instantly rewarded with shouting. "Connor get your ass home! You're fucking dead!" He rubbed at his scarred throat, didn't doubt the threat. "F-fuck off," He snapped, hanging up, and tossed the phone on the floor.

Archer looked up from cleaning the kitchen counters. He eyed Connor warily, easing up on his tip-toes to see Sofie. She just snuggled against his side more, her hand moving to flick a pigtail from her cheek in her sleep. He shrugged his shoulders, spraying the counter with more cleaner before wiping it with a rag.

Connor shifted his weight, staring at his phone in disgust. He closed his eyes again, and his sleep deprived body took advantage, rough breaths passing his lips. He probably wouldn't be waking any time soon.

Archer finished the kitchen, his eyes peeked over to see Connor and Sofia. A smile crossed his face as she stirred for a moment before falling back asleep. Inhaling deeply, he put the rags and cleaner away and made his way back to his room. He figured it would be an hour or so before anyone else was home, which was fine with him. All the chores would be done, and Sofie would be rested. Hopefully, that meant less fighting.

Connor shifted his weight some, but never made to wake up. He was far to exhausted, his sick and sleep deprived body begging for rest and not wishing to give it up. Bo matter how many times his phone went off, and no matter who wandered in the door. He coughed softly, draping an arm over the little girl, and relaxed slightly again.

The door swung open, an exhausted woman walked in the door. Her eyes peered over to the couch, her lip sneering as she saw the unusal boy curled up next to her precious little girl. She put her things down on the table, creeping down the hall. "Archer!" She growled, peering into his room.
"Mom?" He answered, tapping her on the shoulder as he came from Sofia's room. "How was job hunting?"
The woman jumped, turning around quickly. "Not good. What is that boy doing on my couch?" Her expression changing back to exhaustion as Archie just smiled at her.
"She made a friend when we were at the Library." He shrugged, looking down the hall toward the living room. "He got her to take a nap."
"Fine, but next time... tell me. I hate surprises." And with that, she took off to her room, closing the door behind her. Archie made his way down the hall, looking over at the couch. He walked over, peeking at Sofie to see if she was still asleep before he went to the kitchen to start getting dinner ready.

Connor began to cough, groaning and pressing a hand to his gut. He grimaced faintly, stretching carefully so as not to wake her. Reaching out, he grabbed his phone from the floor. Seven missed calls and twenty nine messages. He eyed them warily, set it aside as rubbed at his wrapped wrist carefully.

Archer grabbed a pan from under the stove, along with texas toast from the freezer. He eyed couch as he saw movement before carrying on with his buisness. When he was done putting the toast into the ovens, he leaned against the counter. The sauce for spaghetti simmered as the noodles began to bubble. "You thirsty?" he asked, watching Connor as he moved around on the couch.

Connor shrugged, carefully slipping away from the couch. He incaved stonach growled, begging for food that he refused to give it. "C-cups?" He mumbled, eteing the guy warily. He was like a beaten dog, and he wasn't about to trust this guy any time soon.

His hand went to cover his mouth as he yawned. His feet crossed and pivited, turning his body to face the cabinets. "Here ya go.. There's juice and soda in the fridge." He mumbled, holding the cup out as he took a step out toward Connor. Archie offered a small smile as he returned back to his place near the stove. Taking out a wooden wooden, he stirred the noodles before the sauce. "Was it a good nap?" He asked, looking toward Connor.

Connor didn't bother with a thanks, pouring himself a glass of sprite and hauling his thin body onto the counter, sipping at his drink. "Y-yeah..I needed it," He mumbled, never once meeting Archer's eyes. He refused to. He glanced down at his phone, opening one of the texts with a shaky breath. 'I swear to fucking god Connor, you're in for it tonight! I told you to get your ass back home, don't think I won't kill you.'

"Yeah, I think Sofie enjoyed it too." He smiled, looking over as he saw her pigtails disappear back down from sight's view. "You gonna stay for dinner? I don't think dad's eaten here tonight, and there's plenty.." Opening the stove up, he peeked in at the bread. Sofie yawned in the background. Her little hands rubbed at her eyes, before sleepily picking the kitten up from her lap and slipping off the couch.
"Archie, is momma home?" She asked, peering up at Connor as she stood at the opening of the kitchen. She held the cat closely against her chest, but gentle enough not to hurt it.
Archie looked over, closing the oven back and nodding yes. "She's in-" He paused, the creek of her door opening reaching his ears. A few seconds later, she appeared in the living room. "Hello, um.. well Archer never told me your name.. Well, I'm Karrie." She smiled, looking Connor over with weiry eyes. He was skinny, lanky, and looked like he had gone through a blender.
