Elaine ate until she had finished her plate, then she pushed it away. She finished off her juice, then walked over to grab the rice puddings. She carried them back carefully, handing everyone theirs before she took her chair again. "I hope it's good. I haven't made rice pudding in forever." She told him quietly, looking over at him with a smile.

Cameron finished off his last scoop of mashed potatoes and peas, wiping his hands off on the napkin. He cupped his glass, tapping his fingers before lifting it up to take a sip. His eyes flashed over to Elaine as she handed him a rice cake, and he took it with a small thanks. He looked it over quietly before looking her way. "Let's find out," He returned the smile and took a bite. He took a second bite before looking back to her, a smirk growing on his lips. "It tastes pretty good to me."

She smiled, sticking her spoon into it. She took a bite of it, looking over at him when he said it tasted fine. She swallowed it, then offered him a small thanks before she stuck her spoon in again, taking another bite of it. She looked over as Rosie said her's was good, then her mom who was doting on how nice it was of her to take the time to make such a good desert for them. She just blushed a bit, taking another bite off her spoon before she looked out the window again at the rain coming down now.

Cameron looked back to the rice cake, taking another bite before grabbing his glass to take another sip. His eyes wondered around the table as everyone began to talk of how good it was, a soft smile crept onto his lips. He went back to eating the rice cake, glancing up every now and then.

Elaine finished her pudding, then sat the empty container on her plate. Rosie started to clear the table, putting them in the sink to be cleaned later. "Would you like me to drive you home, child? It's raining something fierce out there." Rosie said, and Lainee glanced over at him, her eyes wandering silently over his face. Something seemed off about him, like he was missing something, wasn't whole.
"Thanks for your help.. I hope you find what you're looking for.." She said quietly.

He finished off his glass of water, looking up as Rosie questioned him. "Yes, please." He answered softly, scooting his chair back from the table. His eyes flicked over to Elaine, giving a soft smile. "Your welcome." Cameron stood up, glancing toward the mom. "It was a pleasure to meet you, ma'am." He spoke, taking one last look before walking over to the kitchen. He waited for Rosie, digging his hands into his pocket once more.

JULY 17TH OF 1953 - SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA Lainee was making her way back from the library, her bag slung over her shoulder with the books she'd gotten in it. She had on the new dress her father had sent her, a beautiful yellow with green ivy at the bottom of it, and white lace around the hem and the sleeves which came down to her elbows. She didn't think she'd ever seen anything so pretty in her life, especially on someone her age. The older ladies always had something nice on. She smiled as she passed a little boy, leaning down to talk to him for a moment and hand him a coin for the candy machine he was looking at before she continued her walk, looking occasionally into the shop windows.

He was doing good these past few days, managing his time well. He made sure not to spend every day combing the streets. His eyes wondered around as he walked, spotting a familar figure not too far away. A smirk pulled at his lips and he crossed the street. "That's a beautiful dress, ma'am." Cameron complimented, flashing a smile her way. He focused his eyes back forward, chewing on his lip thoughtfully.

Lainee looked back as he spoke, and smiled to herself. She stopped and turned around, walking to catch up to him. "Thank you, sir." She said with a slight blush on her cheeks. "You loo awfully nice yourself." She quietly complimented, her eyes wandering over him before they landed on his face again. She thought she'd never see him again, had honestly hoped she would despite knowing she shouldn't be hunting down people she didn't even know.

He smirked, and looked his own clothes over. They weren't special, simple blue jeans and a black shirt, not that his style really varied unless he had to dress up. "Thank you." He said, looking her over carefully before letting his eyes rest on her face. "How have you been?" He asked. Elaine had been on his mind quite a few times the past few days, and Cameron was glad to see her again.

"I've been well. How have you been?" She asked quietly, catching his glance for a moment before she looked down again, didn't want him to think she was staring. She spotted the same little boy from a moment ago, and he ran up to her, showing her the small toy. "Oh my! Isn't that nifty?!" She asked excitedly, patting his head gently. He ran off with a smile on his face and she reached up, brushing a curl from her forehead.

Cameron hooked his thumbs on his pocket, rocking back and forth on his heels. "I've been good," He smirked before glancing down to see the little boy run up. A light chuckled rolled off his lips, his eyes following the boy as he ran off. "Seems like you really like kids." He commented, letting his gaze fall back to her. She seemed to have more freckles than before.

She smiled at his comment, fixing he bag on her shoulder. "I adore kids. My mom said I'm going to be one of those people who has five kids running around." She said with a chuckle. Having more than two kids seemed to be odd to everyone else around her, but she couldn't see why. Nothing was better than hearing little feet run around and their giggles and holding them. "You like kids?"

Cameron chuckled. Five kids? It made his head spin, he couldn't even keep up with one. His smile faded some, and his hand raced through his hair at her question. "Yeah," He mumbled quietly, his gaze turning to look down the sidewalk. "Kids can cheer anyone up, it's like a super power." He gave a half smirk, and shrugged. Cameron chewed at his lip, looked back to Elaine. "What's in the bag?" His eyebrow rose, trying not to stay on the subject of kids.

"Yeah." She said with a smile, looking him over again. She couldn't help thinking she might not have seen another boy so handsome around here in all her life. "Ah. I just stopped by the library." She said, pulling the bag carefully off of her shoulder. She held it out to him so he could look at the books inside. "We got a whole bunch of new books this summer."
